ChickTech CEO Focuses on Bay Area Development

Janice Levenhagen-Seeley, ChickTech CEO, spends January in the Bay Area, California, to develop chapter and global partnerships.

ChickTech’s CEO Janice Levenhagen-Seeley will be living in Oakland, CA from January 5 until February 2, 2019 to focus on engaging with the Bay Area tech community.

“I’m looking forward to spending time engaging with the Bay Area community through developing partnerships and securing funding to support our efforts in and around Silicon Valley,” said Levenhagen-Seeley. During this time, Levenhagen-Seeley will help build up ChickTech’s Bay Area chapter with partners and volunteers, and support the chapter in expanding throughout the region.

ChickTech’s Bay Area chapter launched in 2014, beginning its inaugural ChickTech: High School program with a cohort of over 60 girls. The chapter recently held a High School workshop focused onInternet of Things (IoT), in partnership with Deloitte, hosted at Holberton School on January 13, 2019.

In addition to chapter strengthening, Levenhagen-Seeley’s work in the Bay Area includes raising funds to hire a full-time staff member to coordinate educational efforts and deepen ChickTech’s impact locally, and sourcing partners (both corporate and nonprofit) for ChickTech’s global expansion.

Interested in partnering with ChickTech? Levenhagen-Seeley invites you to connect: “I’m looking forward to meeting some incredible partners and building the foundation to impact women and girls globally. Please reach out to chat about supporting ChickTech’s mission to engage women of all ages in the technology industry.”

Several ‘Meet the Founder’ events are scheduled throughout the Bay Area, providing an opportunity to meet directly with ChickTech’s CEO, learn more about Janice and her journey as a woman founder, to share thoughts on gaps that currently exist in the South Bay tech scene for girls and women, and to help make the South Bay an even better place for gender equity in tech.
